FIRST EDIT

CLIENT FEEDBACK

Michael Frary - Bell Group Norwich Branch Manager.

'You have successfully highlighted two of the many Bells family ethos's that set them above their competitors, identifying, supporting and encouraging females in all elements of Bell's involvement in the construction industry. Very good and easily industry level.'

LECTURER FEEDBACK

Daniel - Lecturer at City College Norwich.

I had a discussion with Daniel where he recognised and commended my experimentation of sliders and my use of fitting B - Roll. He gave me some really constructive pieces of advice that have helped to elevate the video and my problem solving skills. For example, he brought my attention to a slight clipping sound that occurred between two cut clips of an interview. To fix this, he guided me into creating a keyframe and slightly fading in the sound to help remove the sound. This worked really well and I then decided to rewatch the video and check for this in the video. I also explained the issues that I had with the audio from Tracys interview and mentioned the fact that I had made two versions of my first edit. He sympathised with the situation and said that what brings more attention to it is the contrast between that and the deeper, richer audio of the other two interviews. I agreed, and came to the decision that the best choice for me to make would be to take the interview out entirely. We both established that it is a good idea to mention within my evaluation and reflective diary what went wrong and to document the lessons that I have learnt that will lead me to not make the same mistake again.

I was pleased to receive such detailed and constructive feedback. I took on her advice of experimenting with cropping my first interview to remove some of the empty space, but I found that this made the shot slightly foggy-looking.

To work around this, I cropped it by a small amount, but ideally to improve this situation I would have liked to re-shoot the interview to make sure that this empty space is out of the frame. I also took on her advice of removing some of my dissolving transitions, which I found has made a great improvement to the video.

PEER FEEDBACK

Jaz - Classmate

I was happy with Jaz's satisfaction with the audio considering the struggle that I had with the interview that I cut out. Taking Jaz's advice, I cut down some of my static B-roll shots, which made the video appear much smoother.

Digby - Classmate

'I like how it links to the women in trade day theme. The shots are diverse and they dont feel repetitive. You could maybe keyframe your audio cuts to cut out some of the clipping. I also agree with Gianna about cropping the first interview. I enjoyed it!'

I made sure to make improvements to this video by making a keyframe for the audio cuts that I found had a clipping sound. As mentioned above, I cropped the first interview a little to try and fix the empty space without degrading the quality of the footage too much.

I am pleased with this feedback and added in a little bit more B roll to improve.
